Very few people end up with a career they have wanted to do since middle school. I am lucky enough to be one of those people. Since graduating from Hope College in 1999, I've been a financial advisor helping people achieve their goals. Many of those years, I was an advisor inside a bank/credit union so I am very versed on all things banking from mortgages, commercial loans, checking/savings, etc. Our world has changed meaningfully since the start of my career. Helping clients navigate through tough times like the dot com crash, 9/11, housing crisis, and pandemic has certainly been challenging but also very rewarding. The work I love doing the most is assisting clients that are at or near retirement. Watching my clients transition into an enjoyable retirement is what keeps me motivated.

Over the last 20 years, our industry has changed dramatically. These changes are what led me to Fiduciary Financial Advisors. As part of the FFA team, I work 100% as a Fiduciary on all investment recommendations to clients. FFA was founded with a simple approach: the client's best interest comes first. Always. To that end, I work in an Advisor capacity only. I have no affiliations with any investment brokerage firms, sell no products, and accept no commissions on any investment recommendations.

I was born and raised in Grand Rapids. I'm happily married to my wife, Heidi. We have 3 children that keep us busy and on our toes; Christian, Caleb & Clara. When I'm not at work or carting kids to different activities, I enjoy playing golf (or at least a hole or two before my game falls apart) and taking my family on vacation. We try to explore a new place at least once a year.
